The Flow – A Sea of People

The Flow / A Sea of People is a series of jewellery, objects, photographic installations, and an exhibition developed through a personal and ecological exploration of the Baltic Sea. Growing up in the Nemunas Delta region, the sea has always been close to me, yet the more I looked, the more I realised how little we truly know about it. The Baltic is one of the world's youngest seas and among its most endangered—threatened by pollution, eutrophication, and overfishing. Its waters take 30–50 years to renew, making every trace of environmental damage long-lasting. The lingering traces of war add another layer: thousands of sunken ships and dumped chemical weapons lie silently beneath its surface.
Beach towels—intimate objects of summer, the body, and memory—became my primary material, sealed in lacquer to retain their texture and traces of use.
